We would rather be straight about this than pad it out. Community Aid Australia was incorporated in 2019, won and delivered its first digital-inclusion grants, ran events, went quiet through the pandemic years, and stayed registered and compliant throughout. In 2026 the committee decided to bring it back with a much sharper idea of what it is for.
2019
Incorporated in Victoria
Registered as an incorporated association on 28 March 2019 to work on multiculturalism, family welfare and ethnic media.
2019
Be Connected — digital inclusion
Funded by the Good Things Foundation to run Be Connected activation and Online Week activities, helping older people in multicultural communities get online. Our first grants, delivered and acquitted.
2020
Multicultural Melbourne Food Festival
Delivered in October 2020 — bringing communities together around food during a year that made gathering nearly impossible.
2020–21
COVID-19 multicultural grants program
Applied to support communications for communities hit hardest by the pandemic's information gaps.
2022–25
Dormant, but in good standing
Little public activity. Annual statements kept lodged with Consumer Affairs Victoria and the registration maintained throughout.
2026
Relaunch
New committee, new membership drive, four defined programs, and a general meeting in November to put it all on the record.
